An Enemy of The People

This post probably won't be too long, but I wanted to quickly write about a fun time I had in the city recently. I've never been a big theater person. I never thought I'd participate in a musical or a play until I was actually cast in one. I was surprised by how much I loved being on the stage and performing, but I'm still not a crazy fan of theater. I've only been to two Broadway shows in my life and they both weren't to see the actual play. It was to see the actors in person. I didn’t know Hollywood-level actors did stints on Broadway. The first play I went to see was "Sea Wall/A Life". Jake Gyllenhaal starred in it and at the time, my sister and I were obsessed with him. We ended up getting an embarrassing selfie and a picture with him in the background. Not a crazy success, but his ass touched me. That's a story for another time. My second time seeing a Broadway show was this past Sunday. This time it was to see one of the lead roles in the HBO hit show, "Succession", Jeremy Strong. I had no idea what the play was about. I went in totally blind. I was just excited to see Jeremy Strong in person. I went with my sister Phoebe. I was surprised, but excited, to receive the invite. I thought she'd pick my mom over me. I really enjoyed the show. I thought it was a serious story, but it was actually really funny. To cap off a great night on Broadway, we waited outside the theater to try and get our playbills signed by Jeremy. It was a great success and we both got a signature. We took the subway back to my family's hotel room for the night and watched the end of the Oscars. Emma Stone won and I rubbed it into my sister's face. It was beautiful. I’m spending this weekend relaxing, as I usually do. I’m staying in the city and might see "Kung Fu Panda 4" if I find the energy to walk to the theater. Thanks again, Phoebe, for a great time! Happy Friday!
