Chipotle Mythbuster

I wrote a post way back when about my love-hate relationship with Chipotle. I don’t think much has changed since I wrote it back in November. Chipotle is still ridiculously expensive. They’re taking a whole week’s paycheck from every single customer who walks through their doors. I watched a video of their ex-CEO (who just left Chipotle to mess up Starbucks), and he was talking about how it’s a myth that Chipotle’s portions are getting smaller while the prices are getting higher. He said that if you thought you were getting less than you should, you could always ask politely for a little more. If they gave you a piss-all serving of whatever meat you chose, say to the worker, “Hey, can I get a little bit more insert meat here?” I decided I wouldn’t let this big guy CEO lie to me. I won’t take that treatment from corporate America! Our building’s staff were all going to Chipotle for dinner the other night. I knew it was my time to become the Chipotle Mythbuster. I used to get tacos from Chipotle, but I have become quite the bowl kinda guy recently. The bowl would also work much better for my experiment. As I started to order, I got increasingly nervous. What if they denied my request for more chicken? Would I ever be able to go into a Chipotle again? I asked for white rice and no beans. It was time. She started to scoop my chicken, and I realized it was a quite pathetic attempt. I knew I just had to go for it. The words left my mouth, and to be honest, I blacked out for a second. I was blacked out just long enough to see her go in for another scoop. Myth confirmed! They do add more meat if you politely ask them. Big CEO man wasn’t lying. Faith has been restored in humanity, at least a little bit. This experience was this past weekend. Now that it’s Wednesday, I had a craving for Chipotle again. I took a nap and didn’t realize I slept way too long. Somehow, Chipotle was still open. I walked over and ordered. When it got to the meat section, I didn’t even need to ask for more. She loaded my bowl up so big, it was almost too much chicken! What a wonderful night. Combining that with my Apple TV automatically connecting to the internet finally made today a great day. Happy Wednesday, everyone!
