I love New York City. I love almost everything about it, but there always feels to be something missing. Growing up, my favorite time of year was always the middle of September to the middle of October. There is something so beautiful about fall in Upstate New York. The rolling hills with all different colors of leaves. The brisk, but fresh air. The ability to wear basically whatever you want to wear everyday. This weekend I took my biweekly trip back to Cooperstown and I was quickly reminded about my love for Fall. Although I love this season, the best part of my weekend was seeing the people I love. I was very lucky because I got to spend so much time with so many of my favorite people. My best friend was home for the first time since we left for college. Eight weeks apart was too long. My favorite part of the weekend was Sunday morning right before I embarked on my journey back to the city. I finally lived out one of my dreams and it 100% lived up to the idea in my head. I got to be a cowboy! About a year ago, my best friend and I were joking around about how fun it would be to go and ride horses at another friend's barn. Obviously, I'm no cowboy. I don't like being dirty and animals scare me. I grew up as more of a city kind of guy. I wanted a new experience and riding a horse has always been high on my list of things to try. We made these plans so long ago, but it never happened until now. This weekend happened to work perfectly for the three of us to meet up. I was very shocked about how hard it is. Like you have to be strong, confident and know what you're doing to ride a horse. I got to trot, which feels way more intense than it looks. The horse was throwing me around. I was getting tossed in the air and landing hard on my ass back on the saddle. I had such a great time and even got to brush the horses! I came to the conclusion that I might not have grown up a cowboy, but now I can consider myself a "Cowboy in Training". A huge thanks to Addie Pernat for making this happen and having Keegan and I at the barn.
