Done With Work!

Well, I’m done working for the summer! I guess not completely done. I still have some babysitting lined up for next week and a side job I’ve been doing all summer. Today was the last day of my main job. I took the last week off before I left so I could get some quality time with Violet, my family, my friends, and obviously the golf course. My job was very different this year compared to last. For those of you who don’t know, I work as a kids camp counselor at our local country club. Last year, I worked with one of my best friends and two girls in my graduating class, who I like very much. It was fun to work with friends. This year I didn’t mind some of my coworkers and a few were great, but all my friends were gone. It made work less fun and more of a job. I know that's probably shitty to say, but it's the truth. I know work isn’t supposed to be fun, but if it is, it makes it a lot more enjoyable. This year had a very good ending though. Some of the kids wrote me a card and gave a surprise ice cream party. A lot of the parents were super nice and said good luck and goodbye. I had multiple people ask me to come back for next summer. I’m unsure if I will or not. There are some great parts of the job and some really bad parts. If I have an opportunity in the city, I may take that instead, but we never know! I’m excited to not have to wake up early for work. I’m craving a day where I can slumber. Not sleep, slumber. I still can’t do that for a few more days, but I am so excited. Work being over is a major relief. I don’t know why it has been weighing me down so much. I’m always tired and stressed out lately. I feel like I just got the elephant off my chest. I’m looking forward to enjoying my time at home. I have a few pre-training courses to do before I start my RA training on the twelfth. I’m actually doing one as I write this. I was supposed to have it done by now, it’s not due till Monday morning, but I feel like everyone else has probably done it already. They take a few hours each, but I’ll get them done! They feel like I’m taking my online five-hour course all over again. Happy Friday, everyone. Enjoy the weekend, I know I will!
