I have a fashion forecast due tonight. I love the professor, but the content isn't really my thing. I've always like a classic look way more than any upcoming trend. This class gets me way out of my comfort zone, which is a good thing. It's just hard. Doing trend reports and forecasting isn't what I want to do later in life, but this class will definitely help me find what sells. I always end up focusing on classic looks and coming up with a reason that answers why they're classics and how they always have potential to make a huge boom again. Meanwhile everyone else in my class is the second coming of Faith Popcorn. That is a great thing about FIT though. Everyone makes me feel like I need to push myself to do better. I've never really felt that before, especially in Cooperstown, where people just say "good enough". I'm not a very competitive person. I hope that starts to change while I'm here. My forecast tonight was based on consumer's recent need to start minimizing their life and the return to a traditional/elegant 'Coastal Classic' look. I had to make a mood board to describe what vibe I was going for. I loved looking at all the pictures of nantucket. That kind of style is so pretty. Ralph Lauren is definitely my shit. I think he knows what he's doing.
