I'm Just Jealous!

Boo, fucking hoo! Happy Halloween! I know this post is coming out on November 1st, and it’s no longer Halloween, but I saw people dressed up tonight, so it counts! Halloween happened to fall on a Thursday this year, right in between blog posting days. I’m very opinionated about pretty much everything, and Halloween is no exception. Last year, I was in love with Halloween. I got to dress up with one of my best friends, go out, and stay up until nearly six in the morning. It was one of my favorite nights of the year. I was surrounded by friends, and I wasn’t in New York City. This year was, and is, a polar opposite. Because Halloween fell on a Thursday, it stretched a lot of people’s Halloweekend into a two-weekend bender. You could go out either weekend (or both) and still be included. Unfortunately, I work on the weekends and can’t go out. If I have one sip of anything, work turns into a “try not to throw up on a customer” challenge. That isn’t worth it to me. Before I started working, my plan was to go back to Binghamton and run it back. Then I was thinking of going to New Paltz one night and Binghamton the other. Obviously, that didn’t work out. Instead, I’m sitting in my dorm, writing my frustrations out in a Google doc. I really fucking miss my friends. Violet is in New Paltz, and she ran into one of my favorite human beings, Simon. I can’t lie, I’m so fucking jealous of Violet right now. My night class on Thursday was basically empty. When I left, I saw so many students dressed up, hanging outside of Co-Ed Hall. I get that it’s Halloween, but why the fuck were people outside at 6:30 p.m. when I went to class, and still outside when I came back around 9:15? Go party, go to the parade, do something! Spending Halloween sitting outside our dorm is the biggest fucking waste of time. I’d kill to have that time, and you’re sitting outside Co-Ed? I also, admittedly, made fun of people who dress up. I called them freaks. I sincerely apologize. I don’t think anyone who dresses up is a freak, except those people who dress up like sexy Garfield. People asked me what I dressed up as for Halloween, and here’s my official answer: A jealous little busy bitch. I could go on and on complaining about this, but I’ll digress. I know working is good for me. It’s good to make money, and it’s not like work is terrible. If I was working with a bunch of nimrods, then it would suck. Luckily, I work with very funny and kind people. Today was a hard day of work; I ate too many gummy dinosaurs and KFC. You can figure that issue out yourself. I forgot to clock out, which is just embarrassing. After I got back to my dorm, I watched the F1 sprint qualifying, which was a nice, calming activity. Do I still wish I could be out with Violet and Simon in New Paltz? Beyond yes. Do I wish I could match costumes with Treston in Binghamton again? Beyond yes. Do I really hate being at FIT this year?
