I Wish I Was British

I fucking love the United States of America. I think we have our issues, but there is a reason people come from around the world trying to get just a sniff of the American way. I think it is very common nowadays for people to say they want to move out of our great country. I understand it. When you travel abroad, sometimes you think that you would rather live there, and sometimes you would rather die than live there. More times than not, you would rather live there than in the United States. I know the title of this blog makes it seem like I want to live in England and wish I wasn’t American. At some point, I would love to live across the pond. I really love it there. I fucking hate the food, but the golf is just spectacular. I really wish I could get their accent too. I fucking love their accents. When I was in the fifth grade, Mrs. Killian-Russo asked the class to write down a goal and three ways we could try and achieve it. I wrote that I wanted to become a British citizen and represent Europe in the Ryder Cup. When I look back at my fifth-grade goal, I think I was pretty fucking stupid back then. Number #1: Why the fuck would I want to change my citizenship? Number #2: Why the fuck did I think I would ever be good enough at golf to play for the European Ryder Cup team? This goal will never be achieved, and I’m completely okay with it. I went to two Ryder Cups and supported Europe, and I’m still American. I consider that good enough for me. I’m not dramatic enough to say that I would move to England because Trump became president again. I just love the United States too much. I was watching videos of our country coming together after September eleventh, and I wish we could go back to that. Obviously I don't want another tradgedy. That wouldn't be good. There was so much American pride, and everyone came together. I love that, and I think we can be there again someday. There is so much hate for America, and there is so much hate in America. Everyone bickers over everything now. Nobody is right, and no one will ever win this stupid fucking argument. I look forward to the day everyone realizes that. Give everyone their rights, as they fucking deserve, and let's move forward together. We have it pretty fucking great here, let’s realize that. We may not have it the best, but it's better than what we could have. Mrs. Killian-Russo, I’m sorry I gave up on my goal. I'm sorry my fifth-grade mind was a little naive.
