Light And Happy

I go back and forth between being a TV guy and a movie guy. I go to the movies a lot because of my AMC A-List membership, and I want to get the most out of it. When I’m in my dorm, I bounce back and forth. Some weeks, I’m in a movie mood; I’ll watch as many movies as possible and try to fill up my Letterboxd as much as I can. Ever since I finished Succession earlier in the year, I haven't gotten into any TV shows—maybe Sex and The City, but that was a quick phase. I still hate Carrie Bradshaw. I find it hard to really get into a TV series now. I’ve watched almost everything, and I can’t do dark and sappy anymore. Any TV show I watch needs to be light and happy. Everyone tells me to watch Breaking Bad, but that show is just too heavy for me right now. When I find time to watch a show, I need it to make me smile or laugh. I tried Breaking Bad and couldn’t make it more than a minute. I wanted to throw up from boredom. I don’t like change, either. I enjoy watching things over and over. The issue is, when I was younger, I watched all the light and happy shows. I can’t rewatch another series—I’ve already seen Gossip Girl and Gilmore Girls multiple times. I’ve watched Friends more times than the amount of friends I have, and I finished How I Met Your Mother a few years ago. I like shows I can play in the background when I play Minecraft, and How I Met Your Mother is perfect for that. The writing isn’t great, and the acting suffers at times, but it’s very light and happy. I decided to start playing it in the background again. I’m not sure if I’ll keep watching it; maybe I’ll find something better soon. I would ask for recommendations, but everyone always gives me terrible advice (i.e., Breaking Bad). Since I’m losing my TV table at the end of the semester, maybe I shouldn’t watch TV anymore. Maybe I should start rawdogging life and see where it takes me. I just want a show like Succession again—kinda deep, kinda funny, with good acting and writing. I’m excited for this weekend. To be totally honest, I skipped my screen printing classes yesterday because I just wanted a day to rot in bed. That day of rotting definitely fueled me a little more coming into work. I was yawning a lot less than usual. Maybe it’s the massive Red Bull that’s been in my itty-bitty fridge that I finally took some sips out of. My dad is here this weekend, and so are Violet’s aunt and uncle. I’m excited to see my dad, of course (I told you last week, he’s always here!). I’m excited to see Violet's aunt and uncle, too. I hope you all enjoy your last weekend in October and prepare for a wild Halloween. I’m not the biggest Halloween guy and I can’t go to Binghamton this year. I’m spending my weekend prepping for Tyler, The Creator’s new album instead! Happy Friday, everyone!
