Money Matches

I just got home from playing golf with my dad. Playing golf is usually a relaxing time, and it’s always stress-free. The last two days, we’ve played money matches. One thing that stresses me out more than anything is money. I have written numerous posts about how stingy I am when it comes to my money. When gambling comes into the equation, I get even stingier. I don’t need other people’s money in my pocket, and I really don’t want my money in theirs. Over the years of playing golf together, my dad and I have never really played money matches. He’s always been much better than me, so I didn't want to lose to him. I’m not completely sure how he convinced me to start playing them. I guess doing the math on it, I can only really lose twenty dollars at most. We aren’t throwing around crazy money, we are just adding a little something to the pot. I’ve played a lot more this summer than my dad has. I have an advantage when it comes to rounds played. I think our matches are very fair. We don’t use our handicaps at all and play straight up. I fucking hate the handicap system. I don’t think playing for money is going to be an all-the-time kind of thing. It adds pressure but kind of takes away some of the relaxing factor of being on the course. Over the last two days, I won just over twenty dollars from my dad. I played decently the first day, and I played pretty good today. I think we might do it again tomorrow. I can’t believe this is the second to last blog post of the summer. Technically, classes don’t start until the twenty-eighth, but as soon as I move in, I consider summer over. I think Friday’s post will be a review of the summer, and Monday should be a review of my new setup in New York City. Sorry for a short post, but I don’t have much to say today. I’ve had three great days in a row, and I’m playing two rounds of golf tomorrow. Let’s keep it going! Happy Wednesday, everyone!
