Money, Money, Money

Living in New York City is expensive. I feel like no matter what, when I leave the apartment, I'm spending at least $10 on something. I knew when I moved in for college that it would be expensive, so I can't pretend like I'm absolutely shocked. However it feels like highway robbery when you buy certain things here. The most surprising thing so far is Cheez-Its. If you are willing to pay $13 for a single small box of Cheez-Its, you are a different type of animal and I salute you. I'm not made out for that kind of purchase. The other truly striking price point I can't get over is $9 for a small lemonade bottle at some corner stores. As someone who doesn't usually drink enough water, these high costs for beverages have probably gained me a couple years on my life. I'm so bored of drinking out of a Brita. I miss cranberry juice and coke. I just ran over to Krispy Kreme because I wanted doughnut holes. They only had cups of ten left and you know that's not my kind of vibe. I ended up buying a whole dozen of original glaze. My food temptations get the best of my wallet. The same thing happens when I go get pizza. One slice turns into two and that somehow turns into three. College has been a great learning experience when it comes to looking at my bank account and feeling myself crumbling within.
