Movies and Merry Christmas!

Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Christmas, everyone! I know I’ve only been doing this blog thing for just over a year, but what a coincidence that both Christmases fell on a day that I post! Last year, Christmas was on a Monday, and obviously this year it was a Wednesday. I wasn’t exactly sure what part about this Christmas I was going to write about. Last year, I wrote something called “My Lovely Christmas Review.” I didn’t reread it before writing this post, and I guess I probably should’ve. I don’t remember what I wrote at all. So, I’m not going to do a full Christmas review this year. I’m going to write a new (apparently has already been a thing before) tradition. We are on our way to see the new Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown. It bothers me that there is no AMC anywhere near Cooperstown. You have to drive all the way to Binghamton! I feel like a traitor tonight, and I can’t earn points from my family’s ticket purchases. Apparently, our family has gone to the movies on multiple past Christmases. The last time we went was for House of Gucci in 2021. Seeing Lady Gaga getting ‘mongst it on a desk with your parents next to you on Christmas Day should be every family’s new tradition. I guess I don’t really remember going to the movies on Christmas more than just in 2021, but my mom says we have. I love going to the movies, and it’s nice to go with the family. I’m so used to going by myself or with Violet in the city. Violet is coming with us tonight, which is very nice too. I think Christmas movie night should be something we continue. I know I’ve already seen Wicked twice, but I wish I could’ve gone to a sing-a-long version today. It sounds like it would be so funny. I bet I could hit all the high notes! This is my first time, since I started my Letterboxd career, seeing a movie with Phoebe, my Letterboxd mentor. We always compare scores and suggest seeing movies to each other, so it’ll be nice to do it in person this time. I hope everyone had a great Christmas or holiday season in general. Does the holiday season end today, or does it go to New Year’s? I think if we extend it to New Year’s, then why not MLK Jr. Day? If we get that far, why not go all the way to President’s Day and Valentine’s Day? Nothing says the holiday season like naked babies with bow and arrows shooting unsuspecting singles. Whatever, Merry Christmas! Happy Wednesday!
