My Summer Has Concluded!

God damnit! I was lying in bed while Violet popped some pimples on my back, and she asked if I had written a blog post yet. I totally forgot, again! If she didn’t remind me at the perfect time, tonight would’ve ended my streak. I would’ve missed my first post in over ten months. I was even thinking about what future posts I could write, and it slipped my mind that I still had to do today’s post! I mentioned in my last post that I wanted to do a review of my summer. I’ve had a very negative outlook on my summer this year. I thought it sucked, to be honest. My dad had a messed-up schedule, Phoebe was gone the whole time, my mom went on vacation twice, and so did Violet. I was stuck here working! It was awful! I’ve been telling myself how awful this summer has been since June first. I haven’t really let myself think about the positives. I’ve been negative, negative, and even more negative. Instead of bashing this summer more than I already have, I think I want to highlight the things I loved about this summer. My mom asked me what my favorite memory was from this summer after lunch today. It made me think of the great times that were overshadowed by the shitty days. There were a few that stuck out. I played a lot of golf with my friends this summer. My dad worked way more days than he usually did, so when he was busy, I found more time to play with my friends. Obviously, there's never enough time to play golf with my friends or my dad, but this summer was full of good times on the course. Another moment I really enjoyed was going night swimming with Violet. I worked on the lake all summer. I am not a big fan of going in the lake any more than I have to. When Violet asked me to go swimming, I was very against the idea, but she convinced me. We went swimming at night and were unbothered. We listened to Gracie Abrams and jumped in off the dock—it was great! We are planning on going again tomorrow night for a last shebang! She is sitting next to me right now, and we are listening to "360" by Charli XCX. I guess I’m a BRAT! My last favorite memory was this past Monday. I think I wrote about this a little bit, but we played in a tournament with my dad’s friend and his son. We played twenty-seven holes after the tournament and played different kinds of matches. It was my first day out of work, and it was so nice to just be stress-free. I played decently all day, and the matches were super close. We finished it off with a great Indian meal afterward. Although this summer wasn’t all I hoped it was going to be, it wasn’t fully terrible. I made it sound like I was in hell, but I wasn’t. I need to work on that, but that's an issue for another post. I think I’m setting a record for the latest post right now. Jesus Christ, it's getting late! Why are you reading this so late? GO to bed! Read this in the morning.Happy Friday, everyone! Thanks for staying with me over the summer. I know the posts got a little forced and boring at times, but Monday will be my first post back at school. See you soon, NYC!
