My Summer Is Almost Over

When I got home from college, I was so happy to be home. I’m still very happy to be home. It’s really weird to say, but my summer is already almost over. It flew by so fast. I’ve tried to make the most of my time here. I’m playing as much golf as I can after I get out of work. I always find a way to play well for two weeks and play like shit the rest of the summer. I’ve filled my weekends with plans, whether it's with my friends or family. It’s been an okay summer. I knew going into it that it’d be a short and fast one. I’m leaving for school nine days earlier than I did last year. Although I have just over two weeks left in Cooperstown, which I will try to make as fun as I can, I would be willing to say this summer falls in the category of disappointing. Now, I’m not saying it doesn’t have potential. I can still right this ship! Nothing is fully sunken yet! I had high expectations, just like I always do. I was excited to catch up with people I haven’t seen in a while. I was excited to get out on the golf course. I’ve found myself to just be tired all the time. I don’t know if it's because I don’t eat. I don’t know if it’s because I’m an awful sleeper. I just know that I wake up in the morning exhausted from the day before and am constantly fighting to stay awake. I miss waking up in the city and buying Red Bulls before class. I might start doing that here actually. That isn’t a terrible idea. I’m so lazy. I’ve figured out that hanging out with Violet is the superior course of action. I go out and realize I would rather be with her. Now that I can drive, it’s given me a great escape route from uncomfortable or not fun situations. If I could do a tier list ranking of summer activities, being with Violet is in the highest tier. The only other things in that tier are golfing with my dad, Charlie, or Ethan. Work is certainly at the very bottom of those rankings. I’ve developed a D1 full-ride scholarship for my ability to have a shitty farmer's tan. I’m excited to be back at school and maybe have more interesting things to write about on here. I’m not excited to leave my family again. That’s the worst part about leaving, by far! As I said before, I’m going to live it up these last two and a half weeks. I’ll make them the best weeks of the summer! Happy Wednesday, everyone! See you soon, NYC!
