Nigo and Kenzo

I want to start writing more about stuff that I'm interested in on here. I know I usually post about what I'm up to or what's going on in my life at a surface level. Obviously one of the things I'm passionate (I hate that word but I don't know what else to use. It's like "OMG ITS MY PASSION" and I don't like that.) is clothes. I love clothes. I love designers. I find them so interesting. The way they see things. At FIT it feels like there is a mix of those kind of people, but also people who want to be like that. Not my favorite designer, but certainly one of the most interesting to me is Nigo. Nigo has been around forever and is probably one of the most famous designers. He's worked with everyone and he's done everything. He is currently the Artistic Director of Kenzo, an LVMH subsidiary. The reason I'm writing this post is to talk about his first collection from. Holy fuck. It's beautiful. It is all completely inspired by Japanese city pop. His use of floral patterns and different styles of denim. His varsity jackets are also near perfect. Japanese style is extremely interesting. Culturally, they are super different, but also size wise. Japanese men tend to wear suits all the time and are usually smaller in stature. Japanese women typically dress a little more conservative and don't show too much skin. Nigo uses his Japanese influence so well. Everything looks so tailored, but also so relaxed at the same time. It's a lovely mix. I highly suggest you check out the work he has done for Kenzo. I'm a sucker for floral patterns and denim, so maybe I'm biased. Anyway enjoy!
