Instead of having Friday off this semester, I have my Mondays off. I decided to take a pretty cool elective on Friday morning called Principals of Costumes for Filmaking. I've had the class twice now and so far it's just as cool as it sounds. It is a very discussion based class, so I get to talk a lot and give my opinion. That's definitely my kind of class. I'm actually writing this from the AMC theater on 34th street seeing a movie. Review to come of course. I like this class a lot because of the stuff in movies you take for granted but hours and hours of work get put into them. Especially the costumes. This class is focused around what principles costume designers take into account while getting ready for production. We have multiple projects that require costume design and writing character descriptions, which be a fun/new creative process for me. Last week we had to pick a costume from a tv show or film and explain how the costume choice fits the character. I did Roman Roy from Succession. Next week we have to write 2 character descriptions and find two actors to style. Sorry for a short post but I just wanted to write about a cool class before my movie. Happy Friday and have a great weekend! Look forward to the Dune: Part 1 Reissue review on Monday!
