Put Me Behind The Wheel!

Many people never thought this day would come. Many doubted my abilities. I’m proud to say that after many years of pickups and drop-offs, I have finally officially become a licensed operator of a motor vehicle in the state of New York. That’s my long-winded way of saying I got my driver’s license! I'm also a part of the first timers club! I finally got my learner's permit just over two weeks ago, and I grinded to get my license as fast as I could. I told a lot of people, although I wanted this all to be a big surprise. Through the last two weeks, I think I’m actually the most surprised with myself. I wrote one of my first blog posts about why I never wanted to get a license, and now I’m here! I’m not very proud of myself as a person and I don’t get proud often, but this was pretty hard for me. Driving has always been an anxiety-inducing activity, but I finally felt like I could conquer it. Now, there are kinks to work out for sure. I am not perfect. The actual test was one of the most nerve-racking things ever. Ask my dad! He almost saw me shit my pants in the Johnstown Stewart’s! I’m excited to drive and not have to make my friends suffer anymore. I can leave or show up when I want on my own time. I feel very free. It's funny writing this to people I know who got their licenses two years ago and saying, “No shit, Sherlock.” All I have to say back is, I’m happy and I’m proud of myself. I’ve been saving this post for two weeks now, and I was worried I would have to push it back further in case I failed. Now that I passed, I really just want to go drive somewhere instead of writing a celebratory post. This post was supposed to be a long, funny story, capped by a great ending. It isn’t now! I want to be behind the wheel! Let me whip! Sorry for another shorty. Happy Monday and be safe on the roads, I’m out there now!

Yayy! I can finally be a passenger princess!!
So proud of you, my love! 😍
