I'm finally back in the city today after an extended Thanksgiving break. I was supposed to only have Thursday and Friday off, but I took the liberty to go home a week early and miss two classes. I think turning a four day break into an eleven day break was worth a couple points off my participation grades. I have a class at nine in the morning on Mondays and it was certainly a shock to the system. I've been sleeping from four in the morning to two in the afternoon this whole past week. Waking up at nine was tough. It wasn't anything a hot shower and a Vitamin Water couldn't help me with. As soon as i got back yesterday, I went up to my apartment and finished some quick work and then headed to Tribeca. I haven't skateboarded at all since I fucked up my ankle. I know it's probably not smart to start skating again until after I get a follow up on my ankle. It's crazy to me that it is still a bum peg. When I was skating down the West Side Highway, the wind was pushing me in my face. It said "Fuck you Max, You're never making it downtown". I didn't appreciate the wind's harsh words, so I powered through. When I got to the small skatepark, it was empty. I was so happy. I suck at skateboarding and I wanted the place to myself so I could relearn some old tricks. Of course, the emptiness only lasted three minutes. I was pretty proud of myself, it was like riding a bike! I could still ollie up and down stuff. Probably not as high as I could two years ago, but it's been awhile. I think I'm gonna keep going down to Tribeca so I can get back into the swing of things. Skating is so fun. I put my airpods in, turn on Baby Keem, and kill two hours like it is nothing. When I left the park, it started to rain. Of course the wind switched directions so I was, yet again, skating into a strong headwind. I was too tired for that, so I got on the One Train uptown. I got back and took a fat nap. It was great. I set my alarm for 5:30pm (two hours from when I got in bed) and I woke up at 8:30 (five hours after I got in bed). Happy Monday!
