The Weekend Is Here!

If I had to guess, I would assume almost everyone prefers the weekends over weekdays. I’m not exactly sure how we got into this “seven days in a week and the last two are everybody’s fun days” system, but I like it. I, too, look forward to the weekends. Although I am still busy, it’s a better kind of busy. I get to make money, hang out at work, and then see Violet—three things I love. It’s even better if you throw in my parents coming down here. Luckily, this weekend is another one of those weekends. Even though I haven’t been home since August, my parents visit me a lot. I love it when they come, and it gives me a little bit of home without going back upstate. I’ve been looking forward to this weekend for a long time because my mom and I finally get to see Maggie Rogers at Madison Square Garden. For my longtime readers, you’ll remember my post about waiting in line for eight hours to get these tickets. If you aren’t a longtime reader, go back and find that post—it’s a good story. It was posted in April! Now that you’re back from reading that and understand the hardships I went through, you can understand why I’m so excited. Another reason—the main reason—I’m excited is that I get alone time with my mom. My dad comes down on his own a lot, and when my mom comes, she’s usually with my dad. It’s not often I get to see her when it’s just the two of us. My favorite thing to do with my mom is to go to concerts. She makes them more lively and brings a fun, energetic, and happy spirit. She learns all the songs, even if it’s Tyler, The Creator, and makes the best time out of it. I wrote about this same sort of thing last November, but it’s still the truth. She’s staying in my dorm and sleeping on my couch. I don’t think she stayed in my dorm at all last year, and definitely not this year yet. Of course, my dad was the third resident in Fritz and my room. Yesterday was a bit of a long day—lots of drama and nothing good happening. But I got to see Violet after classes, which made everything better. Tyler, The Creator announced his new album, so I still consider it a good day overall. Today has been off to a good start. There are new people working on the first floor, and they’re nice to talk to. I like when people talk to me at work—it makes the time go faster. Andre, thank you! I’m going to see another movie tonight, making up for last week’s mishaps. Violet and I are going to try again to see the new Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh movie. Hope the weekend treats you all well! Happy Friday!

I’m so excited to come stay with you! ❤️ Love you so much!
