Things To Look Forward To

Being on a consistent schedule isn’t always easy for me, but I can’t complain right now. Each semester I’ve tried new types of scheduling, trying to find what I like the best. This year, with the addition of being an RA and working every weekend, it has taken away a lot of the free time I had no idea what to do with last year. I’m not great at change, and it takes me a few weeks to get used to whatever school schedule I pick. Finally, more than halfway into the semester, I feel like I have settled well. My mission this semester was to start every day early so I can finish every day early to rest up. It has worked pretty well, but I discovered that I am not a morning person. I also discovered that I am not an afternoon person either. My peak is always around 10:00 PM—except after work. I really like knowing where I am going to be five days from now. This schedule has been great for that. It makes it so there are lots of points of my week that I can look forward to. Wednesday, after my office hours, I have the night and next day off. I can really get some homework done, see Violet, see my parents, play Xbox, or catch up with some movie watching. Thursday night, I always get excited to see all my work friends. Friday has a few great moments I look forward to. When I get to work, I go early to sit in the breakroom and have a pre-shift chat with the early regulars. Then throughout the day, I get to catch up with Andre and talk about random things. On my second (somewhat extended) fifteen-minute break, Brianna and I get to go and get soft serve ice cream from Ralph's Coffee. Sometimes after work, I go to the movies or see Violet. And sometimes I just go back to my dorm and sleep to get ready for the next day of work. Tonight, I went out for dinner with Violet’s family to celebrate her sister’s birthday. Happy Birthday, Maggie! Saturday is usually the most tiring day of my week. Coming off a day of work and little rest isn’t always easy. Saturday night, Violet usually stays over, and now the F1 season is starting in exhilarating fashion. I also get to sleep in a little more, making it one of my more restful nights. Along with the moments I cherish the most, of course there are days I dread. Usually Monday, Tuesday, and the first half of Wednesday. I try not to doubt those three days too hard, but they can be rough. Classes have been really tricky for me lately, but I feel like I am learning more this semester than I have before. It was a good week, which I am thankful for. It has been a weird month so far, but I can’t complain! Happy Friday everyone!
