I used to hate listening to music. I used to thing it was annoying and I'd prefer to sit in silence. Now, I can't go more than a couple hours without putting on headphones and listening to something. I started to wonder if I could make a list of my top albums and my favorite songs. I had this conversation with a friend the other day and realized it's not as easy as it sounds. Albums, you can at least get a start. I roughly know my top ten albums. Songs is really hard. There are so many fucking choices. I thought it'd be cool to make the two list on this blog so I can look back in a couple of years. I want to look back and think "You actually listened to that shit?". So here is a list, in no particular order, of my top albums and favorite songs.
Albums
Call Me If You Get Lost (Estate Sale) by Tyler, The Creator
Blonde by Frank Ocean
Mr Morale and The Big Steppers by Kendrick Lamar
The Melodic Blue (Deluxe) by Baby Keem
Stranger In The Alps by Phoebe Bridgers
Let's Start Here by Lil' Yachty
Man On The Moon III: The Chosen by Kid Cudi
Igor by Tyler, The Creator
Tete Brûlée by IIiona
Savage Mode II by 21 Savage
Songs
"The Grants" by Lana Del Rey
"Corso" by Tyler, The Creator
"Hey Driver (feat. The War and Treaty)" by Zach Bryan
"The Lakes" by Taylor Swift
"Violent Crimes" by Kanye West
"Love." by Kid Cudi
"Scott Street" by Phoebe Bridgers
"Biking" by Tyler, The Creator, Jay-Z and Frank Ocean
"Telekinesis (feat. SZA & Future)" by Travis Scott
"White Ferrari" by Frank Ocean
The process of making these list was a pain in the ass. It was mental taxing. I feel like I'm constantly leaving someone or something out. There could also totally be a recency bias but I tried my best to look back the last two years or so. Making a list of my current favorite songs definitely would've been easier. I suggest you make the same lists in your notes app and looking back on it. I assume somethings will change and others will stay the same.
