Ungerdogs or Champions? (Bandwagon)

Being from the middle of nowhere makes it hard to have a favorite sports team. We aren’t considerably close to any major city, and we don’t have any professional teams near us. We are perfectly in between so many major cities. It’s roughly four hours to Montreal, Boston, Buffalo, New York City, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. Many people take a liking to whoever their parents like. Maybe their dad grew up in Florida, so they like the Dolphins, or their mom is a San Francisco native who is die-hard for the 49ers. Some people just pick a team and go for it. I didn’t come from either of those. I really just fall in love with individual players or coaches. I like the stories, but I also like to win. I wouldn’t call myself a bandwagon, well actually I kind of am. I also like players because they are attractive. Kill me for it, but look at Tom Brady. He’s a hunk and he is the GOAT. How can you not love that? Before you swipe on my Instagram story and tell me he is a cheater, talk to the seven rings! I wanted to write this post because I was thinking about whether I root for the champion or the underdog. It definitely depends on what sport or what team. I started thinking about this because of the F1 race last week and the upcoming one this week. I hate Red Bull and Max Verstappen because they win everything. They make it boring. Why watch something if you know who's going to win? I still watch because I don’t care who wins, but I care about everything else going on. So, in this case, I hate the champion. I love Ferrari, which I guess is the champion of the past, but I root for some drivers that are just plain dogshit. When the Patriots were winning everything, I loved Bill Belichick, Tom Brady, and Julian Edelman. When they were killing everyone, I loved it. I was rooting for the champions. I’ve never had a team but I have always had favorite players. Demaryius Thomas and Odell Beckham Jr were some good times to watch! Nowadays I root for the stories. The crazy shit, the sad shit, and the happy shit. Who do you root for? The champions or the underdogs? Happy Friday and enjoy the weekend! I know I will!
