Weird Dreams

Staying up very late can be either a really good thing or a really shitty thing. If you’re out with your friends at a jazz club in Brooklyn, and one second it was 11:00 PM and now all of a sudden it’s 3:00 AM and you still don’t want to come home—that is a good example of how staying up super late is a fun thing. On the other hand, you could have three finals the next day and desperately need to finish projects and study for your exam. You don’t get to sleep until 4:00 AM, and you wake up feeling like shit. That is an example of how staying up late fucking sucks. This post isn’t about how much I enjoy staying up late or how I’ve always been a bit of a night owl. Violet thinks 10:00 PM is super late, and I feel like the day is just getting started. This post is about the weird fucking dreams I have after a long night. I went to sleep really late last night, and with that comes a short but very deep slumber. As soon as I hit the mattress, I was out like a rock. It’s as if someone snapped their magical sleep fingers and knocked me out. When I sleep deeply, I always have some weird fucking dreams. Sometimes they are recurring, and the story just continues. This is my favorite. When I wake up, I vaguely remember them, and it’s quite a creative and entertaining story. You know how people say that the only faces you see in your dreams are faces you have actually seen in real life? I always have the most random people from all different times in my life. Some people I have never met and some people I haven’t spoken to in years. The worst types of dreams, in my opinion, are the ones that are so realistic that you jump out of bed thinking you actually did something fucked up or that something really bad happened. Those dreams are terrible. Waking up thinking you killed someone really makes the start of your day feel like shit. I think dreaming is really interesting. Unconscious, but still in a fake conscious state? That is weird. I hope my dream from last night continues tonight. I need to know more about what was going on. I don’t even know how to start describing the story. Reading this post back, it really makes me sound like a freak. I promise I’m not crazy. I just think it’s interesting. As the finals season continues and more and more little nights of sleep become common, I hope everyone else is getting some fun dreams. I finished two of my seven classes today, and I’m excited to be done for the semester. So far, the grades are looking good, and I just need to clutch up the last few projects and exams. Happy Wednesday, everyone!
