I Could Be A Part of The X-Men

I knew training was going to be a string of long days. It has definitely not been the easiest thing ever. I guess I wouldn’t say it is hard; it is just tiring. We have a few breaks here and there, but a full day of PowerPoint presentations is brutal. When I’m out of training and have some free time, I’ve been working on getting my floor ready for the residents to move in on Saturday and Sunday. I still have a lot to do, actually. I’ll finish writing this and then try to get as much done as possible before I go to sleep. While I’ve been doing work, I’ve been watching the X-Men movies. Violet suggested it a day or two before I left, and I got pretty hooked. We watched the first two together and now are watching the rest separately. We found a list of how to watch them in chronological order. I’m not sure if it’s right, but let’s hope so! I haven’t watched all of the movies before, and I haven’t seen some of them since they came out. It’s been a while. I like watching series of movies because I like the continuation of the story from one to another. I also like adding them to my Letterboxd account because it feels like one long movie, but counts as three or four. The X-Men movies are kind of a continuation of stories. There is definitely a need for a little imagination. In a perfect world, all of the older and newer movies would mesh together perfectly and there would be no actor switches. I understand the world isn’t perfect. Watching all of these movies makes me wonder: if I were a mutant, what would I want my mutation to be? Violet thinks Magneto is really cool. I’m not sure if she just likes Michael Fassbender or if his superpower is actually really awesome. Magneto wouldn’t be my first choice. After the first movie, I thought I would want Charles Xavier’s powers. Being a psychic would be so awesome. Reading minds and knowing what everyone was thinking would be so cool. Then I realized he has all these voices in his head. That must suck. That would annoy the shit out of me. So, no to Charles Xavier, sadly. Mystique has a cool superpower, but it’s only good in stealth situations. She’s not really on the attack. So, no to her as well. Beast is just a dumb answer. If I wanted to be smart, blue, and hairy, I’d be Papa Smurf instead. Now, Wolverine isn’t a bad answer. Claws are cool. He regenerates after all of his injuries. The real reason I’d be Wolverine is because then I would look like Hugh Jackman. That sounds fan-fucking-tastic to me! Who would you pick? Would you pick an existing mutant, or I guess you could create your own? Happy Wednesday, everyone!
